It's that time of year again. January is a very slow sales month but very busy planning, reflecting and goal setting. I love reflecting on the past year and seeing where I have succeeded and shined and where things did not go as planned. 2024 did not go as planned in many ways. When I look back at all I had hoped to do a part of me feels a bit disappointed. But then I see all that was accomplished and I feel pretty good!
One of my goals for last year was to do events more often throughout the year so I didn't have to do so many at the end of the year. I also wanted to choose events that would bring in 1000 shoppers or more. Previously I was smaller shows that would bring in a couple hundred shoppers. I am grateful for those kinds of events because I learned so much the first 2 years of doing events. I have definitely learned that larger shows is where I have the most fun. I love the craziness of having a booth full of shoppers. There were a few shows that I was disappointed by my sales. However, after starting my year end reviews I realize that my sales were really good. That's why I love reviewing. Sometimes we don't even see our wins until we look at the big picture. Overall I am really happy with my 2024 business results.
When looking back at my personal year, the same thing kind of happened. I felt throughout they year that I wasn't staying on track. But now looking back I realize how much we accomplished. We had a huge lifestyle change. July 4th Tim's mom moved in with us. She's 89 and was in extremely poor health. The first 8 weeks she lived with us I spent most of my days caring for her. Making her meals and making sure she had everything she needed to get better. And she did! After a couple months of living with us she began to thrive. She is back to being fully self sufficient, other than meals. So, if that was all I accomplished this year I would say I had an extremely successful year!
But it's not all that we got done. We had a full renovation of the outside of our home. Not everything got done but a lot did! We also worked on a few indoor renovation projects.
I traveled to TN a few times to see my sister. which was a big goal for me! This year my gaol is to keep up on that and also add a trip or two to CA to see my other sister!
For 2025 our biggest goal is to complete all our home renovations. We have been working on our home for too many years. It's time to complete it and be able to just enjoy our home. We also plan to do some traveling. I'm not sure exactly what that looks like yet but we will start with some small trips and see if we enjoy it. We're both home bodies so we aren't even sure how much traveling we care to do. But do know we want to spend more time doing fun things together. It can be hard when you have 2 people who enjoy "working" all the time. We tend to forget to make time for the real fun stuff! This week we are going to sit down and work on ideas for 2025. We've been together over 20 years and this will be the first year we do goal setting as a couple. Hopefully we can help keep each other accountable and motivated!
What are some of your big goals for 2025?
